Christian Bale Bailed Over Alleged Assault

Actor Christian Bale, and star of the new Batman movie, has been released without charge, but bailed to return by police officers, following an alleged assault on his mother and sister.

The attack is alleged to have taken place at the Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, where Bale was staying in advance of the premier of “Dark Knight”, also starring Heath Ledger as the Joker.

Following his release by police officers, Bale issued a statement saying: “It’s a deeply personal matter. I would ask that people respect my privacy in the matter.”
