Mount Street Gardens are a former burial ground of the parish of St George's, Hanover Square. Part of it was also previously used as a workhouse, although this was demolished in 1886 and it was first laid out as a public garden in 1889-1890. Mount Street Gardens have been regularly awarded with the prestigious Green Flag Award.
